Yogesh grew up in a small village in Maharashtra state, India. He studied chemistry at University of Pune (India) where he learned chemical synthesis and became fascinated in chemical biology. Next, he joined Prof. Ishu Saraogi at IISER Bhopal (India) to receive training in chemical biology and was awarded his Ph.D. in January 2021. In the following year, he joined Prof. Ryan Mehl’s laboratory where he works on the design and synthesis of ncAAs for efficient, stable and rapid bioorthogonal ligation on the protein to study their spatiotemporal dynamics and functions.
