Abigail Pung grew up on a small overgrown Christmas tree farm in Helvetia, Oregon with her very loud Nubian dairy goats. She began attending Oregon State University in 2021 as an undergraduate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, where she fell in love with the subject. Abigail joined the Mehl lab as an undergraduate researcher in April 2021 and has worked to optimize the current tetrazine encoding technology to allow for the production of a wider range of proteins.
