My name is Savanna and I am the Unnatural Protein Facility coordinator. My job is to facilitate use of genetic code expansion for scientists who wish to use this technology in their own research. This involves workshop-style education about genetic code expansion, individual training and consultation, and large-scale production of ncAA labeled proteins for academic and industrial research groups.
Outside of my facility duties, I am working on a couple of ongoing research projects under Ryan Mehl and Rick Cooley. My main research project aims to engineer an additional orthogonal system so that we can incorporate multiple ncAA into proteins.
